Hallo neue Bücher!

Was macht man, wenn man gerade auf dem Weg zur Uni ist und im Bus sieht, dass die Dozentin eine halbe Stunde vor Beginn des Seminars eine Mail geschrieben hat, in der sie mitteilt, dass es ausfällt?
Genau, sich ärgern. Aber zum Glück war das nicht ganz so schlimm für mich. Immerhin brauche ich nur etwa 10 Minuten in die Stadt mit dem Bus. Es ist nicht so, als hätte ich eine lange Anreise. Also bin ich statt zum Seminar in die Stadt gegangen, um einfach an der frischen Luft zu sein, ein bißchen hier und da zu stöbern – und um bei der Mayerschen ein Buch zu entdecken. Das Cover von “Living the Dream*” hat mich direkt angelächelt. Leider hatte ich meinen Gutschein nicht dabei. Das hat mich allerdings nicht vom Kauf abgehalten. Auf Amazon wäre es deutlich günstiger gewesen, als die 18 Euro, die ich nun dafür ausgegeben habe. Aber dafür habe ich eine Buchhandlung vor Ort unterstützt.

Eine deutsche Übersetzung des Buches habe ich noch nicht gefunden. Erschienen ist es übrigens letzten Sommer. Vielleicht kommt da ja noch eine Übersetzung.

Lauren Berry, die Autorin, stammt aus dem Norden von London und ihre Arbeiten sind unter anderem im Guardian und Observer erschienen.

Das nächste Buch ist der neue Roman von Jenny Colgan, “The Endless Beach*”, die Fortsetzung von “The Summer Seaside Kitchen*”. Erschienen ist “The Endless Beach” am 11. Januar – es ist also noch ganz druckfrisch. Ich habe es vorbestellt und gestern kam es dann auch an.

Viele ihrer Bücher wurden auch ins deutsche übersetzt. Zum Beispiel “Die kleine Sommerküche am Meer*”.

Jenny Colgan schreibt aber nicht nur Frauenromane, sondern auch Kinderbücher und ScienceFiction (zum Beispiel Romane zu Doctor Who).
